Transfer Admission Notes:

  • UMD utilizes a test-optional undergraduate admission policy. Learn more here. Although UMD does not require ACT writing scores, students who wish to enroll in education programs can benefit from taking the writing portion of the ACT.
  • Applicants who have completed an associate of arts degree, an associates of science degree, a baccalaureate degree at another accredited college or university, or the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum (MnTC) are exempt from UMD's liberal education requirements.
  • UMD requires at minimum a letter grade of "D" or higher for a course to transfer to UMD. However, some majors require a letter grade of "C-" or higher for prerequisite/major-related courses.
