UMD Hosts NEMBA Award-Winning Authors

DULUTH, MN – Winning authors from this year's 27th annual Northeastern Minnesota Book Awards (NEMBA) will read passages and poems from their works on Wednesday, July 15, from 4-6 pm, in the first floor reading room of the Kathryn A. Martin Library on the University of Minnesota Duluth campus. This event is free and open to the public

The following authors will be on hand to read some their work:

  • Jim Boyd, Sawdust in Their Blood, honorable mention in General Nonfiction
  • Diane Bradley, Wilder's Foe, honorable mention in Children's Literature
  • Michael Fedo, Zenith City: Stories from Duluth, honorable mention in Memoir and Creative Nonfiction
  • Shawn Otto, Sins of Our Fathers, winner in Fiction
  • Sheila Packa, Night Train Red Dust, honorable mention in Poetry
  • John and Meridith Schifsky, Saved by Beauty: Sister Mary Charles McGough, OSB, winner in Art, Photography
