Student Body President holds
Multicultural Center Office Hours

Kimberly Newton wants to invigorate the dialogue between student groups at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD). As student body president, she began holding regular office hours in the Multicultural Center. She meets students every Thursday at 11 a.m.

Newton's goal is for students to feel comfortable coming to her with questions or concerns they have. She also holds office hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the Student Association (SA) Office. "I want to be able to make connections with different associations on campus, and get to know their members personally," Newton said. "It has been a goal of mine to collaborate and get involved with different groups, and I made that a part of my campaign when I was running for president."

Newton, along with other SA members have made appearances at multiple events sponsored by multicultural center organizations. They have attended Taste of UMD and the Drag Show where they volunteered. They also made a donation and plan to attend the upcoming Korean Night. Newton and the rest of SA hope to promote interaction and bridge the gap between the different associations on campus.
